Anoushka Shankar Anoushka Shankar, an Indian-born British American musician and sitarist, is well known for her songs. It included performances at Carnegie Hall and at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD festivals in addition to performing together with George Harrison. To honor her position as one of the top musicians in Asian Arts, she was awarded the House of Commons Shield by British Parliament.
